Welcome toWander Japan – Kyushu CulturalGuide

We curate thoughtfully designed,
small-group journeys across Kyushu for travellers seeking meaningful and
enriching local experiences.

Rather than simply guiding guests to famous
landmarks, we create moments of discovery through quiet places, personal
encounters, and a deeper connection with the region.

Through these experiences, guests are
invited to step away from the demands of everyday life and immerse themselves
in the simple rhythms of local communities, the warmth of ordinary life, and
the depth of Japanese culture.

Many of our journeys are shaped in
collaboration with local people and artisans. Through conversations with
craftsmen and hands-on traditional craft experiences, guests are able to feel
not merely like visitors, but participants connected to living traditions.

We also hope that each journey offers a
sense of intimacy and exclusivity — moments that feel personal, memorable, and quietly special.

For those seeking encounters beyond
conventional tourism, we offer a rare opportunity to experience Japan in a deeper and more familiar way.

Kisun-Cultural experience designer and Private guide

Kisun spent 17 years with a British financial institution in Tokyo and London before founding a company in Tokyo that provided domestic support services for foreign expatriates.
After leaving the company in 2020, he returned to his native Kyushu and dedicated himself to exploring the region’s history, culture, and tourism potential. He traveled extensively throughout the island, writing travel essays and newspaper columns while hosting more than 50 groups of visitors.
In 2024, he founded Sennen no Tabi (A Thousand-Year Journey), a travel design company dedicated to creating authentic cultural experiences and fostering meaningful international exchange.
Drawing on trusted relationships with local communities, artisans, cultural practitioners, and business owners, he provides exclusive access to people, places, and traditions rarely available through conventional tourism. His journeys are designed to offer travelers a deeper understanding of Kyushu and Japan through personal encounters, cultural immersion, and genuine local connections.
