Starting "A Thousand-Year Journey - Travel Design -" Project
During the Meiji era's opening to the world, Western diplomats and scholars visiting Japan marveled at the beauty found in the landscapes and daily lives of its people.
As Japan modernized, the essence of rural life underwent significant changes. However, the influx of inbound tourism presents a new opportunity to rediscover the allure of regional areas.
Today, there is a growing movement across Japan to reassess tourism resources and revitalize regional economies and cultures.
Therefore, we believe that "Travel Design" plays a pivotal role in showcasing the authentic tangible and intangible resources of each region, devising ways to captivate visitors and transform these resources into economic value.
Travel Design can be defined as "exploring a region's tourism resources (people, things, experiences) to create new value in the form of unique experiences."
Collaborating with local stakeholders, Travel Designers aim to bring out the best of local charm and offer experiential travel products.
Through interactions where travelers become storytellers alongside locals, deepening their experiences, we aim to create encounters akin to old friends reuniting, fostering connections between locals and visitors from afar.
The title "A Thousand-Year Journey" is chosen to honor the accumulated historical value of each region and express the hope for enduring new encounters over the next millennium.
We aspire to create ripples through Travel Design, connecting people across Japan and welcoming visitors from around the world. Your support and cooperation are greatly appreciated.
